INNOVATIVE DOG RESCUE SEEKS IMMEDIATE FUNDING TO SECURE PERMANENT FACILITY
3/21/2019 Durham, NC: Yadid’it! is not like all the rest. Small, new and and raring to go, they have an exciting concept, and in less than a year of operation, without a facility of their own, have established a track record that many long-standing organizations would be proud to hold.
“Training is the key to mitigating a high return rate,” explains Shana Yadid, owner of Yadid’it! Dog Training and founder of the rescue. “The reason it’s such a consequential issue is because when a dog gets returned to a shelter, they have a significantly higher chance of being euthanized. We offer free training before AND after the adoption process, and that makes all the difference.”
The Rescue’s mission is threefold:
To break the “surrender cycle” by creating a holistic-based rescue focused on kill-bound shelter dogs and rehabilitate them in mind, body and behavior, then re-home them with loving families, with full training support post-adoption to ensure positive long-term adoptive experiences for the canine and their human companions.
To offer a unique community-based program for victims of sexual violence to interact with and adopt a loving canine as well as learning vital confidence-building skills through team training with their new companion, at no charge to the participant.
To create a sustainable rescue model based on for profit business support through revenue streams generated by Yadid’it Training, small-scale urban farming and the sale of organic dog supplements, space rentals, and other community business revenue sharing opportunities.
“The leash? It’s a connection and it brings us together.” says Yadid, confidence and conviction clear in her words. “Dogs teach people what unconditional love really looks like and how they can embody that as well.”
Yadid’it! may be young, but they are mighty. And they are growing. In the short time they have been in existence, the organization has already organized an impressive network of volunteers and fosters, and has successfully fund raised to sufficiently support the rescue and rehabilitation of more than 12 mixed breed and pit mix dogs, most of which were in danger of imminent euthanasia. 3 of these canines have already been successfully adopted directly from the rescue, with several adoptions pending. 8 dogs are currently available for adoption on their website.
Now Yadid’it! Rescue needs your help.
A golden opportunity to build a brand new, state of the art, sustainable community-based farm and facility has become available, complete with business support and further funding sources ready and waiting.
But, they must raise $50,000 for a down payment on the property by Monday, March 25th to make the first step to raise the roof on their new home.
The race is on. While last-minute fundraising appeals go against everything sustainable that Yadid’it! is striving to achieve, this dream is just too valuable to pass up.
